Database A database is an electronic filing system It is an organised collection of related data It will allow the user to store and organise information Examples of databases: E1 – school registration system DVLA – Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency

Amending and Editing Activity 6 – Music database (page 19) Your teacher will demonstrate the various parts of the database and show you how to: Delete records Add new records Edit information Delete field names You will find the file on the server – copy to your own space before making changes! Don’t forget to tick each instruction once completed.

Consolidate your learning! Your teacher will demonstrate how to search for information from a table by using filter by form This allows us to “filter out” records that do not match our requirements. Eg: If I wanted to search an employee database table for all employees that work in the Admin Department the filter would remove records of all other employees.
