BRAKE OIL

Brake System

AUTOMOTIVE BRAKE FLUIDS Mineral oil affects all these types of rubber hence brake fluid is not made with use of mineral oil. Similarly vegetable oils deteriorate faster at high temperature and cause safety risk, hence not used in modern vehicles. Mixture of castor oil and alcohol, glycols and poly-glycols are used to produce different types of brake fluids.

GREASES

Grease is defined as a solid or semi-fluid product which is a dispersion of a thickening agent in a liquid lubricant along with some additives.

GREASES COMPOSITION BASE OIL + THICKENER + ADDITIVES ( 75-85%) ( 10-15 %) ( 0-5%) MINERAL SYNTHETIC VEGETABLE SOAP BASE NON-SOAP POLYMERS ANTI-OXIDANT ANTI-CORROSION EP/ANTI-WEAR TACKINESS AGENT SOLID FILLER METAL DEACTIVATOR STRUCTURE MODIFIER

Why use a Grease? Grease offers unique characteristics which makes it particularly useful in machine elements Stay where it is put Allows unattended service for long periods (sealed for life) Requires less frequent application for areas of poor accessibility Seals out contaminants Operate over a wide temperature range Solid additives can be used without concern of settling out Low leakage means they are effective in worn equipment

Advantages over Oil Grease stays in place because of semisolid nature whereas oils flow away Bearing designs simplified and maintenance work reduced as there is no oil pump/sump For long time or packed for life applications grease is preferred e.g.. electric motors, wheel bearings of new generation passenger cars, etc. Grease works as a sealant in - Dusty environment, cement plants, mining industries etc. Corrosive water in paper mills Corrosive gases/liquids in chemical industries.

Advantages over Oil SOLID LUBRICANTS LIKE MoS2 AND GRAPHITE CAN BE BLENDED WITH GREASES WHEREAS IN OILS THEY SETTLE DOWN. DRIPPING AND SPATTERING ARE AVOIDED BY USING GREASE IN APPLICATIONS LIKE FOOD PROCESSING/ PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES GREASES ARE PREFERRED IN INTERMITTENT OPERATIONS. GREASES WORK EVEN IN BADLY WORN/ OLD MACHINERY

Power : A New Generation Petrol

Branded Fuels

Why does your Car engine performance lowers with age ? Deposits in Fuel Injectors: Poor Ignition Reduced Acceleration Rough Idling Deposits on intake Valves: Restricts Air flow (affects fuel economy) Power Output Driving comfort Carbon Deposits in Combustion Chamber: Leads to ORI (Octane Requirement Increase) High Engine Oil Consumption

Power : A new generation Petrol Advantages: Removes deposits on Intake Valves, Port Fuel Injectors and Combustion Chamber Promotes better Fuel Combustion Benefits: Better Power and Acceleration Enhanced Fuel Economy Reduced Emission Longer Engine Life Best Choice for New Generation MPFI Cars. However, Carburated Engines would also derive considerable benefits. 2
