Methadone (Dolophine) Increases peak and AUC. Clinically significant effect unlikely, but cannot be ruled out; best to avoid combination. Benzodiazepines, oral: Diazepam (Valium) Midazolam (Versed) Quazepam (Doral) Triazolam (Halcion) Increases AUC and plasma concentrations by inhibiting the intestinal metabolism by CYP3A4. No interaction seen with IV midazolam. Alprazolam does not appear to interact. Watch for possible increased sedation. U.S. prescribing information for midazolam syrup advises avoiding grapefruit. Some references advise avoiding grapefruit with those benzodiazepines listed.
