Web Design Vocab 3 PNG, JPG, GIF, MP3, MPEG

PNG PNG: (Portable Network Graphics) PNG is a graphics format specifically designed for use on the World Wide Web. PNG enable compression of images without any loss of quality, including high-resolution images.

GIF GIF: File (Graphics Interchange Format) A common format for image files, especially suitable for images containing large areas of the same color.

JPG JPEG or JPG: Joint Photographic Experts Group. A compression technique used for saving images and photographs. This compression method reduced the file size of the images without reducing its quality.

MP3 MP3: MPEG Layer 3. An new standard for audio compression. It is capable of 10:1 compression with no noticeable loss in quality.

MPEG MPEG: stands for Moving Picture Experts Group. MPEG is the name given to a set of standards used for coding audiovisual information (ie, movies, music, and video) in a digital compressed format.
