Aslı ( daughter of an Armenian monk) A Love story oF Kerem (son of a Turkish Shah) and Aslı ( daughter of an Armenian monk)

The story is a variation of “Leyla and Mecnun” and “Romeo and Juliet”.

Once upon a time there were a Shah and a monk Once upon a time there were a Shah and a monk. They were neighbours and good friends. They didn’t have any children. One day an old man gave the Shah’s wife an apple seed and the Monk’s wife a pear seed. Two women shared the fruit of the trees and the Shah had a son, the Monk had a daughter. When the children grew up, as soon as they saw each other...

fell in love at first sight. Kerem and Aslı fell in love at first sight.

But Aslı’s father was against the relationship because of the couple's different religions.He didn’t want to refuse the Shah and let the young couple marry…

Aslı was also longing for Kerem… Aslı’s father said Aslı died and they moved from Isfahan to another city so that Aslı and Kerem can’t get married. Kerem learnt the truth and travelled endlessy with his best friend Sofu playing his saz and singing songs. Aslı was also longing for Kerem…

Kerem asked Aslı to everyone, everything on his way Kerem asked Aslı to everyone, everything on his way. He looked for Aslı all around Anatolia. He found her in Halep. The Priest of Halep helped young lovers and persuaded the Monk.

Aslı’s father let the young lovers marry again but he wanted Aslı to do the last thing for him. Her father wanted Aslı to wear a magic dress on the wedding day.She accepted and told Kerem.

At night, the more they tried to open the buttons of the dress, the buttons were looped. They didn’t manage to open any buttons. At the end, Kerem said “ Ouch!!!!”. As soon as he said the word he burst into flames. Aslı’s ashes were blended with Kerem’s…
