MY COUNTRY

TURKISH REPUBLIC The Turkish Republic was established on October 29th, 1923 by M. Kemal Atatürk.

Turkey lies on a region with an extraordinary wealth of history, culture and natural beauty. It was located in both of the continents of Asia and Europe.

Turkey borders eight countries. Bulgaria to the northwest; Greece to the west; Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to the northeast; Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the southeast.

Turkey is a really beautiful country Turkey is a really beautiful country. It is surrounded by the sea in three directions. It has long and sandy beaches, warm sea, historical places, natural beauties and etc. You can do wildest nature sports and travel back in time to see civilizations of thousands of years ago.

MY CITY

ANKARA Ankara is the capital city of Turkey. Ankara is an commercial and industrial city. It is the center of the Turkish Government , and houses all foreign embassies. My city has a population of about five million.

Ankara is an old city and is situated upon a steep and rocky hill. There are a lot of historical places, museums , monuments, delightful parks in Ankara.

Anıtkabir is the home of the mausoleum of M Anıtkabir is the home of the mausoleum of M. Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.

There are several important universities in my city There are several important universities in my city. A lot of students from all over the world come to have a university degree in my city.

My city is famous for its long-haired cats , white rabbits and pears and grapes.

MY SCHOOL

My school is located in the western urban area of Ankara My school is located in the western urban area of Ankara. There ara about 600 students and these students are aged between 5-14. Economic status of our students’ families are avarage. There are 24 classes at my school. Our school has got one main block based on two floors which has one science lab, one computer classroom and classrooms etc.

We have two pre-school classes at my school We have two pre-school classes at my school. The students get ready for primary school there. They paint pictures, play games, sing songs and they make new friends.

There ara 42 teachers in my school. All of them young and energetic. My school has got a big garden. We celebrate our national festivals in this garden.

We have six lessons on weekdays We have six lessons on weekdays. Some of our subjects are Turkish, Maths, Social Science, English, Physical Education, etc.

Also the students have art and craft lessons once a week and they produce different materials by the help of their teacher. They do experiments in science lessons. They learn how to play a recorder and they sing songs as a chorous.
