D ATA E XCHANGE –W HY ? Raise immunization rates More immunization data for all ages Workflow requires dual entry of data in ImmPact and EMR/EHR Meaningful Use Requirements for exchange and reporting of immunizations

D ATA EXCHANGE – T ECHNICAL BASICS 101 ImmPact Module: STC-PHC-HUB Data transfer methodology: HTTPS POST (Inbound/Outbound/Bi-Directional) Capability to send and receive both HL and standards EHR/EMR HL7 Message HTTPS State of Maine

D OSE D ECREMENTING – W HAT ? W HY ? What? o A comprehensive vaccine management system (dose decrementing) that links the ImmPact application functions to vaccine ordering, inventory management, and vaccine administration with the ability to auto dose decrement vaccines from inventory as vaccines are administered electronically through an inbound (to the IIS) message. Why? o Dual data entry will be eliminated o Summary and detailed reporting of HL7 data o Easy fix tool Why doesn’t my practice have this? o Because these vaccine transactions need to be explicitly linked to the location the vaccine was physically administered and to comply with US CDC Vaccines for Children Mandates, funding eligibility must be included additionally which these data elements are beyond the basic standard to achieve this integration which many electronic medical records do not have this capacity yet.
