 Victims of rape or incest account for 1/3 of 1% of all pregnancies. That does not justify the other 99.67% of abortions.  Evidence shows that abortion compounds the pain. The violence of an abortion, like rape, has its own lingering pain.  Most incest victims seldom consent to abortion seeing the pregnancy as a way out of a horrible situation.  The baby does not deserve the death penalty for the father’s crime.

In fact, a Planned Parenthood Medical Director reported 90% of illegal abortions were done by doctors.  Studies report: before Roe v Wade made abortion legal (1973), the estimate for deaths from abortion was 39 women; while to date there have been 347 documented deaths from legal abortion.

 So I’m hoping we can also agree that pointing out something that is morally wrong does not obligate us to take responsibility. For example, if we cannot care for an abused child mean that we should not object and report the abuse? Of course not.  That fact aside, pro life supporters are nevertheless actively involved in the care of the mother and child before and after the baby is born. And many are on waiting lists to adopt.  There are Crisis Pregnancy Centers throughout the US providing pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, food, clothes, diapers, life skill training, parenting training, post-abortion counseling and more – all for free.
