One EPA Initiated by Bob Perciasepe, Deputy Administrator, on June 1, 2010, memo entitled “Leading One EPA” Further defined for Region 8 by Jim Martin, Regional Administrator, on June 16, 2010, memo entitled “The Time is Now” 1

“The Time is Now” Our RA has requested that employees answer the five questions posed by Mr. Perciasepe What does One EPA mean to you and what should it mean to the Agency? If we were to act as One EPA, including how I have described it here, what would be different than the way things are now? Where have you seen an integrated, One EPA issue approach in action, and what made it work? Include any observations about creative ways to manage policy and procedural requirements. 2

“The Time is Now” continued What are issues where a One EPA approach within your organization or across the Agency could produce a more effective and durable result than the way things are now? What could you do personally and your organization do to advance one EPA? What new incentives or changes can you identify that could strengthen the signals that EPA values and consistently wants us to achieve these results? 3
