Program and Organization of ICCEVC International Conference on Community-based Empowerment of Vulnerable Children

The Conference is organized on following main themes: 1.The importance of psychosocial uplifting of vulnerable children 2.Working Models on solving the problem – i.e. learning from each other to adapt and resolve issues 3.Understanding Child Rights as Human Rights 4.Empowering Communities to protect their children 5.Networking Academia with Civil Society and Government to further research for the reduction of child vulnerabilities Themes

There will be four main sessions: – Day-1 1.Which Type of Vulnerabilities our children are facing? - PAPERS 2.What Type of Working Models can help overcome vulnerabilities of children? - MODELS – Day-2 1.What constitutional solutions are available to address the vulnerabilities of our children? - PAPERS 2.What can be the community based solutions? – PANELS Working Sessions

One Hour Panel discussion (plenary) will be held on Day-1 after Lunch (Parallel to presentations of models – till tea break) The Panel will formulate the Key Questions that ICCEVC will address during its course and through follow up sessions afterwards. – Suggested Panel Agenda: 1.What to look for while proposing a model for community? 2.Identification of research questions on child vulnerability? 3.What Networking Method will be effective to overcome vulnerabilities of children? Panel Discussion

The collection of papers and models will be published as compendium or book The conference will have follow-up sessions in the year 2012 along with working on the model selected/proposed by the conference as pilot project to inspire the CSOs in Pakistan to adapt their practices in the best interest of the child, iA. The proceedings of ICCEVC will be recorded for future use Follow Up
