 Penélope Cruz was born in Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain.  Her birthday is April 28,  She is currently 38 years old.  Her father, Ecuardo, was a car mechanic.  Her mother, Encarna, was a hairdresser.  When she was younger she studied classical ballet for nine years at Spain’s National Conservatory.  Ella tiene una hermana menor de nombre Mónica.  Penélope es un buen bailarín.

 When she was 15 years old she beat out 300 girls in a talent agency competition.  She moved to Hollywood at age 26.She started acting in  Ella estaba tan emocionada de ir a Hollywood.  Penélope married Javier Bardem, a Spanish actor in July  Ella y su marido se conocieron en la película Jamón Jamón.  Cruz had a baby boy named Leo Encinas Bradem in January 2011.

 In 2006 she was in Volver which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award. She won European Film Awards as well as Spanish Goya Awards.  Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2008 was a popular movie. She won Best supporting Actress.  Her first English film was “Hi-Lo Country”.  Penélope es muy experimentado.  Ella ha ganado muchos premios.

 Penélope has several charties that she spends time at. Artists for Peace and Justice in Haiti.  She had the honor to meet Mother Teresa. She helped with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.  Cruz volunteered in a leprosy, which is a skin sore disease, clinic in India.  She spent time working with the Dalai Lama for the House of Tibet in Spain.  Penélope es muy trabajadora.  Ella es una persona que da.

 On April 1 st, 2011 she was the 2,436 th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to receive a star.  Penélope is the first Spanish actress to receive a star.  She is the first actress in history to receive an Academy Award. She’s the sixth Spanish Actor overall.  Ella ha estado en un montón de películas.  Penélope es inteligente.
