Aztec Gods

 Huitzilopochtli- god of war and sun  Tlaloc- god of rain  Quetzalcoatl- god of learning and art

Quetzalcoatl  Once the Aztec overthrew the god Quetzalcoatl, he said that he would come back to claim the Aztec empire.  When the Spanish conquistador Cortez first came to the Aztec empire, the Aztec thought he was god Quetzalcoatl.  They treated him really good and gave him gold.

Huitzilopochtli  Huitzilopochtli gave the Aztec the command that they were supposed to look for the sign of an eagle eating a snake, sitting in a prickly pear cactus.  Wherever they found the sign, they would have to settle there. They took 200yrs to find the sign.

Tlaloc TTTTlaloc was the god of rain. HHHHe would provide enough rain so the Aztec would have enough food.

Sacrifices  The Aztec did sacrifices to the gods so everything would go fine.  To the Aztec sacrifices were essential, they believed that if they didn’t do sacrifices the gods would destroy the world.

Aztec Gods  The Aztec gods didn’t look at all like humans.  Aztec gods didn’t have feelings, all they needed was blood shed from humans to keep the world going.

The End!!!
