Purpose & Role of the Quality Assurance Review Team Determine the extent to which the School meets the AdvancED standards. Assess the efficacy of the School’s improvement efforts. Evaluate the effectiveness of the School’s methods for quality assurance. Provide high-quality feedback with clear recommendations and actionable next steps. Make an accreditation recommendation. 7

Observations Made observations of how the School and its schools daily demonstrate adherence to the AdvancED Standards. Professional deliberation Shared findings and engaged in deliberations as a team regarding the School’s adherence to the AdvancED Standards.

Criteria Used to Arrive at the Team’s Findings When reviewing evidence to arrive at its findings, the team: Sought a school-wide perspective; Pursued evidence that could be corroborated through multiple sources; Examined the context and capacity of the school in relation to its vision, mission, and beliefs; and Applied the criteria for accreditation.

Commendations The Quality Assurance Review Team commends Fairmont Catholic Grade School for: The school has an overwhelming commitment by all groups of stakeholders to the vision and mission of the school, which truly guides the allocation of stakeholder time and fiscal resources. The school governance and leadership is outstanding. The principal has the trust and respect of all stakeholder groups which enables her to guide the school and empower teachers to take leadership roles. Therefore, faculty and staff are willing to go beyond normal expectations.

Commendations Graduates of Fairmont Catholic Grade School are respectful, hard working, and disciplined students who are prepared for future personal and academic success. Technological resources are abundant and well used by students, faculty, and staff. The school’s employment of teacher aides in grades K-3 is noteworthy and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the classroom.

Recommendations The Quality Assurance Review Team recommends that Fairmont Catholic Grade School : Continue to develop and implement the work of the Trend Analysis and Application Committee as a means to systematically analyze test scores and modify curriculum and instruction. Analyze formal and informal methods of communications to ensure that parents receive the types of information they need to be current in their understanding of classroom and school level academic, faith development, community outreach, and extracurricular offerings as well as opportunities for them to become involved in the school. Conduct periodic parent surveys to assess areas of school improvement.

Next Steps Written report of findings submitted within 20 days After receipt of the report, the school is expected to: Review and communicate the findings. Address the recommendations. Monitor accreditation standards on ongoing basis. Monitor strategies for improvement. Submit the Accreditation Progress Report two years following this review.

Accreditation Recommendation The Quality Assurance Review Team recommends to the AdvancED Accreditation Commission that Fairmont Catholic Grade School be awarded NCA CASI Accreditation as a quality school. Once reviewed and approved by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, the school is granted a 5-year term accreditation.
