Version 5, Revised on ERPA 2014 ©  Animal testing – finding non animal testing alternatives o Emphasis on market driven approach : exploitation of R&D results to commercialize new innovations tools and products o Development of new computational modelling to replace animal testing and increase the efficiency of research, by predicting better the toxicity of cosmetics than trial animal tests ERPA Project – Horizon 2020 – Cosmetics Projects (e.g.)

Version 5, Revised on ERPA 2014 ©  Horizon 2020 Nanotechnologies topic “Increasing the capacity to perform nano-safety assessment” o Innovative solutions cutting across research and technological fields with a strong innovation and market driven approach to develop mechanism-based understanding of toxicity  Horizon 2020 Personalising Health & Care “New approaches to improve predictive human safety testing” ERPA Project – Horizon 2020 – Cosmetics Projects (e.g.)

Version 5, Revised on ERPA 2014 ©  Personnalising health and care o Topic: New approaches to improve predictive human safety testing o Specific challenge: Current approaches assessing the safety of chemical substances in humans are expensive and time consuming, and may be of limited relevance as a predictor of adverse effects. Better approaches are needed both to improve the efficiency of predictive toxicological testing to address key areas of concern for human health and to meet regulatory requirements. Safety testing is of worldwide concern and therefore international cooperation may be an important element in addressing the challenge. o Details: 2- stage call for proposals with following deadlines: (stage 1) & (stage 2) o Requirements: involvement of research communities, SMEs, industry and regulatory agencies, international cooperation (USA) o Budget: 10-15Million Euros o Follow up of NOTOX project (Cosmectics Europe co funder) ERPA Project – Horizon 2020 – Cosmetics Projects (e.g.)
