The proton, electron and neutron create the building blocks of an organized molecule. Proton = Identity Neutrons = Isotopes Electrons = Reactivity, Bonding Basic Organization is the molecule which has: Intramolecular Bonds: Covalent, Ionic Intermolecular Bonds: van der Waals, Hydrogen

The most important elements of life are C, H, O, N, P, S Which are arranged by inter & intramolecular forces In the presence of water…the building blocks of life are formedamino acids. Why is water so important? Regulates Temperature in organism/environment Universal Solvent for Metabolic Purposes Cohesive/Adhesive Properties for structure and transport Structure as a solidIce Floats

Water dissociates into a H + and – OH ion. Acid is a measurement of H + in a solution. Base is when more – OH in a solution. Measurement of pH scale Each step has a difference of 10x of H + ions. Example pH of 0 has the highest amount of H + pH of 14 has the lowest amount of H + The difference between a pH of 0 and 1 is 10x. The difference between a pH of 0 and 2 is 100x (10 x 10) Buffers regulate pH by adding or removing H + to the solution.
