Fall is Here So-Mi Song and Activity

Eighth Note ti-ti

Quarter Note ta

Fall is Here So so mi Fall is here. So so mi mi Birds and flowers, So so mi Dis-a-ppear.

Activity Teach students to sing the song using sol fa hand signs. Sing the song with the words. Divide students into two groups. Group A-Trees Form a circle with the students facing out-their backs to the center. Arms raised as if the branches of a tree. Group B-Birds and Flowers Birds and Flowers stand in the middle of the circle. The Trees lose their leaves on (mi) and lower slowly to the ground (Air to shoulders, shoulders to knees when they sing on mi) The birds and flowers mimic or echo the “falling down” movement. Group A still covers Group B at the end of the song.
