V for Vendetta Why won’t you die

Lighting In the final fight scene a dark and gloomy lighting effect is used. This effect helps us foresee that something is going to happen. The lighting makes the area feel it is separated from the rest of the world where nobody can see or hear what is going to happen.

Camera angles With this shot we see v as the one in power as he is slightly higher than the surrounding men. This shot also gives the idea that he is severly out numbered. High angle.

Slow motion The director used the technique of slow motion in the film to slow down and put more emphases on the fight scene. By doing this the director has been able to show us how important this scene is and make it stand out. Slow motion was used only for v’s attack this is used in such a way that it makes his character seem to stand above all the rest.

Music and sound effects Throughout the whole fight scene there is a dark gloomy sounding music which picks up when its v’s turn to react. This creates more focus v and makes it easy to predict the outcome of the fight. When v throws his 1 st two knives there is a slow sound effect used to create emphasis on the attack.

Dialogue There are many quotes from this film that are still used to day but one that stands out from the rest is “beneath this mask there is more than flesh, beneath this mask there is an idea Mr. Creedy and ideas are bullet proof”. With this quote the director was telling us that an idea may never die and an idea will stick around for ever.
