FAQs State funding is restricted to the first two years as a teacher of record on a preliminary credential. Teachers who delay starting BTSA/Induction will be responsible for the cost of the program when they are no longer eligible for state funding. The cost of BTSA Induction is currently $5,809 per year.

FAQs My credential is good for five years FAQs My credential is good for five years. Can I wait until my second year of teaching to start Induction?

FAQs Why do I have to do all this? The state designed Induction to accomplish several objectives: Induct new teachers into our profession to promote teacher retention and thus, student achievement Provide a means for new teachers to reflect on their teaching practice and collaborate with others to enhance their teaching practice demonstrate that the elements of the standards are being applied in their classroom before being issued a professional credential

FAQs My preservice program prepared me well for the demands of the classroom. Why do I need to repeat what I’ve already learned? Preservice preparation provides the foundation and theoretical framework for effective teaching. Induction provides the opportunity to deepen understanding and apply and demonstrate it in everyday practice. FAQs

What if I don’t like my Support Provider? FAQs What if I don’t like my Support Provider? Our Support Providers are chosen for both their effectiveness as classroom teachers and their skill and ability working with adult learners. If your combined best professional efforts cannot resolve issues, please contact your Program Advisor, and they will be willing to work with you to find another Support Provider.
