Depute Rector: Dr J More SCHOOLS CURRICULUM AWARD BALWEARIE HIGH SCHOOL  Balwearie Gardens Kirkcaldy Fife KY2 5LY Tel: Fax: Dear Mr and Mrs Smith, Your child has been referred to Guidance for the following reason: Please discuss this matter with your child. Do not hesitate to contact me should you require further information. Yours sincerely, Miss K McCulloch For repeatedly failing to complete homework to the standard he/she is capable The relevant paragraph is inserted into various letters

Advantages V’s Disadvantages Standard Paragraphs take a lot less time than hand writing. It’s a lot easier than hand writing. Doesn’t cost teachers any time so they can get on with classes and marking tests etc. There is a lack of personalisation, e.g. all letters say “he/she”. Since some teachers don’t read all of the letters, there could be something wrong on them, e.g. typo. And if this was on one, it will be on all. Takes up more paper. Letters are all too general.
