What’s New in CS v9.5 Variable Frequency Drive Pumps A new pump type has been added. The Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) pump acts as a variable speed roto-dynamic pump whose actual speed is defined by the use of Real Time Control.

What’s New in CS v9.5 Variable Frequency Drive Pumps

What’s New in CS v9.5 Variable Frequency Drive Pumps Flow, Head and Power are governed by affinity laws Example : if Speed changes 10% Flow change 10% Head change 21 % Power change 33%

What’s New in CS v9.5 New Force Main Solution Model A new solution model has been introduced for conduits. The "ForceMain" solution model is similar to the Pressurised Pipe Model and has been introduced to represent specific types of pressurised system.

What’s New in CS v9.5 Hazen-Williams Roughness Type A new roughness type has been added to conduit objects. The Hazen-Williams (HW) roughness type is valid for use with the "ForceMain" Solution model. Improvement to Find Network Objects Tool It is now possible to search for network objects of types other than Nodes, Links and Subcatchments using the Find Network Objects Dialog. RTC Grid Editor Improvements Improvements have been made to the RTC Grid Editor first introduced in Version 9.0:- Can now be opened from the Catchment Window or Explorer View. Right click on the RTC Scenario in the Catchment Window. Explorer View and select Open As... from the popup menu. Select the Editor option from the Select Format dialog. Now possible to open a blank RTC Scenario with no dependents. Regulator properties are now displayed in the grid editor.

What’s New in CS v9.5 New Run Parameter to stop Simulation if Initialisation Fails A new run parameter has been added to the Schedule Hydraulic Run Dialog. The Exit if initialisation fails option is used to stop the simulation if the initialisation phase fails. If the option is unchecked the simulation will be allowed to continue if initialisation fails.

What’s New in CS v9.5 Decimal Precision of Horton Coefficients Increased The decimal precision of the Horton Initial, Horton Limiting, Horton Decay and Horton Recovery fields for Runoff Surfaces has been increased to three decimal places, allowing greater accuracy when using the Horton Infiltration Model. Diagnostic Polygon tool It is now possible to easily identify errors and carry out visual inspection of GIS and polygon areas. Diagnostic polygons are generated from polygons and/or GIS layers.

What’s New in CS v9.5 Enhancements to Google™Earth integration Improvements have been made to the export to Google™Earth. It is now possible to export data as a collection of KML and PNG files that can be accessed by Google™Earth via a server whose URL you specify in the Export to KMZ for Google Earth dialog. You can also control the size and number of tiles required to cover the network and provide the fully-detailed view when it is zoomed in. Other new options include:- · Export selected object only · Export visible layers only · Show or hide object names and descriptions · Control font and label sizes · Export of Floodmapper flooding contours · Export of 2D Triangle themes as ground overlays · Control over the dimension of ground images · Show or hide results · Group results by timestep · Specify which timestep results to export

What’s New in CS v9.5 New 'Clear Ground Model' Menu Option A Ground Model loaded onto the current GeoPlan can now be removed from the GeoPlan without closing the view. Select the Clear Ground Model option from the Network menu to remove the Ground Model from the GeoPlan View. Jump to First/Last Tab in Grid Views Buttons have been added to the bottom of the Grid Views in addition to the scroll buttons which allow jumping to the first or last tab in the view. Zoom and Pan Functionality in GeoPlan It is now possible to use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom and pan in the GeoPlan View. · Scroll the wheel to zoom in and out · Hold down the wheel and drag the cursor to pan Zooming can also be carried out in this way in the 3D Terrain View, Long Section View and 3D Manhole View.

What’s New in InfoWorks CS/2D v9.5

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 Apply Rainfall and Evaporation Profiles to a 2D Mesh It is now possible to apply rainfall and evaporation profiles to 2D mesh elements. The rainfall profile will be applied to all mesh elements of all 2D Simulation Polygons in the network that have the Apply rainfall option selected.

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 Apply Rainfall and Evaporation Profiles to a 2D Mesh Applies to entire 2D simulation polygon Pitched roofs - 1D subcatchments

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 2D Initial Conditions It is now possible to specify initial values for level, depth and velocity to be applied to 2D mesh elements at the start of a 2D Simulation. New Gully 2D Flood Type for Nodes A new Flood type for nodes has been added. The Gully 2D flood type allows a head discharge relationship between the manhole and the 2D mesh to be defined by use of a Head Discharge Table. Meshing Summary Information at 2D Simulation Polygon Summary information displayed in the HTML log when a 2D Simulation Polygon is meshed is now appended to the Notes field of the meshed polygon. This allows information such as ground model and network objects used to generate a particular mesh to be viewed easily. Graph Reports now Includes 2D Results Analysis Points It is now possible to compare results at Results Analysis Points (previously known as Point Selection Points) using Graph Reports. When producing these reports it is now possible to include a selection of Results Analysis Points for graphing instead of a selection of network objects.

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 New 2D Outfall A new node type of Outfall 2D has been added to allow modelling of discharge from outfalls to 2D areas.

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 New 2D Outfall Level in 2D creates boundary condition for 1D outfall link

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 New 2D Outfall 2D Outfalls and Controls

What’s New in CS/2D v9.5 New 2D Simulation Polygon Boundary Condition The Normal Condition boundary type assumes that slope balances friction forces (normal flow). Depth and velocity are kept constant when water reaches the boundary so water can flow out without boundary losses. 2D Boundary Condition Objects Two boundary condition objects have been introduced for use in 2D modelling: 2D Point Source objects are used to define the location of a flow-time boundary point within a 2D Simulation Polygon when undertaking 2D Modelling. Inflow associated with the point source discharges to the 2D mesh element in which the point is located. 2D Boundary objects are used to define alternative boundary conditions along a section of a 2D Simulation Polygon boundary. The boundary condition defined at the line will override the 2D Simulation Polygon boundary type where the line and polygon boundary coincide.
