Media 175 Principles of Digital Photography Photographer W. Eugene Smith Presented by: Josh Beal Date: Oct. 28, 2013

W. Eugene Smith “I’ve never made any picture, good or bad, without paying for it in emotional turmoil.” – W. Eugene Smith

W. Eugene Smith’s concentration on photography was never without becoming involved in the lives and events of those he documented. He was known for searching for every angle. While taking pictures of the Pacific Theater during World War II, he gained compassion for the suffering his subjects were enduring. This lead to a mission of social justice through photojournalism on the road. Photo by W. Eugene Smith

“What use is having a great depth of field, if there is not an adequate depth of feeling?” – W. Eugene Smith Photo by W. Eugene Smith
