Objectives Upon completion of this project, “Off to the Endocrine System We Go,” students will be able to identify the body parts of the endocrine system by choosing the correct picture that corresponds with the given body part. Students will also be able to correctly answer 75% of a set number of questions about the endocrine system using only the PowerPoint. Standards addressed: 3.2.4, 3.6.1, 5.4.9

Today, we’re going to learn about the endocrine system. You were already given some basic information about this body system, but you’ll learn some more detailed information today. Pay close attention, as there will be a matching game later on and a quiz at the end! Now, let’s get ready to learn!

The Endocrine System

Adrenal Glands There are two adrenal glands—one on top of each kidney Each adrenal gland has two parts—the outer part (adrenal cortex) and the inner part (adrenal medulla) The cortex produces hormones called corticosteroids The medulla produces hormones called catecholamines X
