PH Scientists use something called the pH scale to measure how acidic or basic a liquid is The scale looks at the concentration of positively charged hydrogen.
PH is the measurement of the concentration of H+ ions in a solution. (Or how acidic or basic a solution is.) 1. The pH scale has a range from 1 to 14.

The pH scale

pH Measure of acidity of a solution 0 to 14 Water is neutral because of equal amounts of hydrogen and hydroxide ions. Acidic solution has excess of hydrogen ions. Alkaline soltion has excess of hydroxide ions.

pH means power of hydrogen At ph =7 Hydrogen ions at concentration of 1 x 10^-7 At ph =6 Hydrogen ion concentration of 1 x 10^-6 Etc Ph change of 1 unit is change in hydrogen ion concentration of 10 Ph change of 2 is change in hydrogen ion concentration of 100.
