Picking Up Pebbles Link
To write, to write one’s life Link
is to take a road that leads to nowhere Link
and yet parallels the totality of one’s existence Link
To write one’s life Link
is to evoke a silhouette Link
that of the writer rushing through his past Link
One cannot tell where he is going Link
as he detours diverges deviates Link
but that is why we want to follow him Link
Along the way like a lost traveler Link
he picks up pebbles from the ground Link
and stuffs them in his pockets Link
As he gropes backward he loses himself Link
but we are willing to be disoriented with him Link
willing to be lulled by his vain repetitions Link
Stranded in time with him Link
we lose ourselves in space with him Link
and yet everything holds in place underneath Link
as if pulled by a magnet Link
All that was absent Link
forgotten from his life Link
is now suddenly present again Link
