Collecting Paint for Recycling in New Hampshire Marc Morgan HHW Coordinator

What are we talking about? Household generated waste paint Oil-based Water-based (Latex) Paint used on exterior or interior wood products

What am I NOT Talking About? Thinners Marine paints Industrial paints Automotive paints Non-household paints

What is the BIG Deal? HHW Vendors say that paint makes up between 60%-70% of waste collected at events Nearly $500,000 annually for NH residents 69,000 gallons collected in 2004

What can I do about it? Educate yourself and staff Contact a vendor Get storage supplies Start collecting paint for recycling Special permits not needed for recycling
