Blue Force Communications Compatible Antenna System UNCLASSIFIED Overall Status BF Communication Interoperability Baseline with EW system MISSION AREA: Force Protection. Tech Area.: Air/Ground Survivability. Sub Tech Area: Integrated Survivability Equipment Description/Purpose: Establish a communication antenna system to allow interoperability of Blue Force communications with EW systems in ground vehicles. Capabilities: Current prototype hardware has demonstrated sufficient isolation to establish simultaneous interoperability of key systems. TACSAT Antenna Schedule/Cost Status/ Issues: Baseline TACSAT prototype antenna developed. Successfully demonstrated antenna interoperability with CREW/ TACSAT at China Lake testing. Feed Network and Tunable Filter in development. BF TACSAT Comm. System Interoperability Testing with EW/CREW system to be performed at China Lake. Customer: US Army I2WD with SBIR funding. Affiliation: Work with PM EW for future transition to PM EW. Agreements: Pursue SBIR Ph II enhancement funding. Transition to PM EW. Blue Force Communications Compatible Antenna System UNCLASSIFIED Accomplishments Planned (FY10–11): Focus technology developed in Phase I on UHF SATCOM and HF terrestrial links to provide reliable communications without compromising EW. Develop high-isolation comm. Antenna. Develop feed-network to support Antenna Isolator. Develop Tunable Notch Filter. Actual (FY10-11): High-isolation prototype TACSAT antenna successfully designed and tested. Successfully demonstrated CREW/TACSAT interoperability at China Lake testing for comm. antenna. Final prototype feed network in development. Engineering prototype feed network implemented, currently under test and evaluation Prototype fixed filter successfully implemented and tested. Tunable version under development. Status FUNDING COST SCHEDULE PERFORMANCE STAFFING CONTRACT TRANSITION Several additional months projected to perform BF Comm. system interoperability test at China Lake. Test schedule TBD. UNCLASSIFIED
