K NOWLEDGE G AINED Visible links were made between ID theory and Event Design Theory Instructional concepts influence the Learning outcomes The need for Instructional Technology in Distance Learning is integral. The importance of content sequencing in designing instruction.

F OUR F ACTORS The weekly discussion forum and the responses of the participants. Instructional Technology and Distance Learning can not be instructed directly but make up the framework of instructional design. The first concept map design activity aided in being more skilled at the design of the second. Peer interaction and discussions, meetings with course participants.

R EFLECTIONS P ART I “ Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience oreducation by perceiving, dis covering, or learning.” (Plato et al)factsinformationdescriptionsskillsexperienceeducationperceivingdis coveringlearning

R EFLECTIONS P ART II The Application of Merrill’s First Principles are now clear. Previously, they merely appeared to be definitions. ADDIE model seemed utopian and separate from ID model. It is not delineated but guides ID theories. The breakdown of Instructional Theory has not changed but has been added to with the introduction of models, outcomes etc.
