Winter Storms Heavy snowfall and extreme cold can immobilize many people. Winter storms can result in flooding, storm surge, closed highways, blocked roads, downed power lines and hypothermia.

Freezing Rain Causing a coating of ice on every surface it hits. Creating driving, and other tasks very difficult.

Sleet Rain that turns to ice pellets before reaching the ground. This creates moisture on the roads, and it freezes.

Winter Storm Watch A winter storm is possible in your area. You should take necessary precautions.

Winter Storm Warning A winter storm is occurring or will soon occur in your area. You should take necessary precautions.

Blizzard Warning Sustained winds or frequent gusts to 35 miles per hour or greater amounts of falling/blowing snow are expected within 3 or more hours.
