ZAMBIAS PEOPLE Population 11,477,447 Zambia's economy has historically been: a) Agriculture which employs 85% of the countries population. b) Cooper mines and other minerals e.g. zinc, cobalt, lead, emeralds etc c) Tourism currently is adding $30 million and more per year to the economy English is the official language Zambia has 35 different ethnic groups Zambia has over 70 languages spoken Dance makes up an important part of Zambian culture. Music is also important and many of the ethnic groups use drums as their primary Instrument % of the Zambian people are Christians 24-49% are Muslim and Hindu 1% have indigenous beliefs.
