WHY These SHOWs? Student-selected/directed one acts give students the opportunity to direct and have more ownership over a production. It also allows for a more flexible production calendar and greater amounts of actors with more spoken opportunities. All Out has themes of consumerism and extreme entertainment in order to please an audience, and that is interesting to see laid out so blatantly. The idea of going against what society and management want, or doing what they want, are intriguing too, as well as showing how the individual is affected by the pressures of society. Dystopian Fiction differs from the norm at Skyline. The Lottery presents an opportunity to the crew, actors, and myself to engage in a piece that speaks to the effects of tradition, social order, and human capacity of violence. Our Place includes both comedic and dramatic vignettes which speak to the human experience and elicit strong emotions from the audience. Add brief explanation (cast size, contrast with Fall Play, whatever)

Volunteering If you plan on volunteering, go to the ISD website and follow the links. This is required by the district and must be updated every year. Once per year, if you’ve already done it this year – you are good to go.

WORK PARTIES Set Construction, Light Hang & Focus, & Props Work January 3 (11:00 – 5:00), 18, 25 9:00am – 3:00pm Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toed shoes (i.e. tennis shoes) Adults (who have completed background check) and SHS students (who have turned in Informed Consent Forms) will be allowed to attend.
