EverFi Financial Literacy Soft Skills Week 3

What is Financial Literacy? Financial literacy is the ability to understand how money works in the world. how someone manages to earn money. how to manage your money.

Why is Financial Literacy Important? Understanding basic money management skills, such as living within a budget and handling credit/debt is very important for students. Having little or no knowledge regarding financial management can affect you negatively in different aspects of your life, such as your ability to afford college buy or lease a car buy or rent a house get a credit card or loan set-up utilities or cell phone service

EverFi EverFi Financial Literacy is an online resource that uses video, animation, and interactive activities to bring complex financial concepts to life. The program tracks individual student progress and knowledge gain. It provides students who successfully complete the course with a certification in financial literacy, which can be a powerful tool for job, college, and internship applications. This platform contains 9 modules: Savings, Banking, Credit Cards, Credit Score, Financing Higher Education, Renting vs. Owning, Taxes & Insurance, Consumer Protection, & Investing

Freshman Academy You are required to complete Module 1 - Module 3 online & the accompanying packet. Module 1: Savings Module 2: Banking Module 3: Payment Types (You may complete additional modules for earn extra credit.)

Log into EverFi Go to karrfreshmanacademy.weebly.com Scroll to the bottom of the Home page and click on EverFi. Type in your username & password. You will be prompted to change your password. WRITE YOUR NEW PASSWORD DOWN! Check the “I agree to terms & conditions” box. Click the “Get Started” button. Complete the four page survey. Watch the 4 minute introduction video.

Work on Module 1: Savings Note: EverFi will not let you skip through videos/media. You must listen to/interact to all parts of the module. You will be graded on the 10 question post test & the module packet. The post test can be attempted multiple times to earn your desired score.
