Naaman Gets Healed of Leprosy 2 Kings 5:1-10, 14

Naaman was army commander of the king of Aram Naaman was army commander of the king of Aram. He was very important to his master and was highly respected. That’s because the Lord had helped him win the battle over Aram’s enemies. He was a brave soldier. But he had a skin disease.

The soldiers of Aram captured a young girl from Israel The soldiers of Aram captured a young girl from Israel. She became a servant of Naaman's wife. The slave girl told the wife about the prophet in Samaria would could heal Naaman's disease.

Naamans' wife told him about the prophet who could heal him Naamans' wife told him about the prophet who could heal him. When Naaman went to the king to ask if he could go to see the prophet, the king said "yes" and gave him a special letter for the king of Israel. On his trip, Naaman took 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold and 10 sets of clothes. When Naaman arrived in Israel, he gave the letter to the king. The letter said Naaman wanted to be healed of the skin disease.

When the king read the letter, he tore his clothes. He said, "Am I God When the king read the letter, he tore his clothes. He said, "Am I God? Is the king asking me to heal his servant? Is he trying to pick a fight with me?"

Elisha, the prophet whom the slave girl referred to, heard that the king tore his robes. Elisha sent a messenger to the king. Tell Naaman to come and see me. Then he will know there's a prophet in Israel.

So Naaman went to Elisha's house. Elisha's servant answered the door So Naaman went to Elisha's house. Elisha's servant answered the door. The servant told Naaman to wash himself in the Jordan River seven times. He added, when you do, your skin will be cleaned.

As the servant said, Naaman went to the Jordan River and washed himself 7 times. His skin was made clean again.

What does it mean to love our neighbors? Loving your neighbors is the symbolic sense to express love of Christians for one another, since all are sons and daughters of the same Heavenly Father. In today’s story, Naaman’s army captured the little Israel girl and made her a slave. God helped her show love to Naaman, even though she was taken away from her family against her will. Just like God helped the servant girl helped Naaman get healed, God wants us to help those who wrong to us.
