Satellite Week Space Camp Inaugural Camp August 2017, In-Residence Camps at UNC Asheville, July 2018, July 2019 Equivalent to Phase 1 ThinSat Program Introduction to: Atmospheric Science, Particularly Weather and Climate Hands-On Remote Sensing, Nano Sats Launched on Weather Balloons Teach Concepts of Calibration and QA/QC Teamwork Stressed Throughout Astronauts Participate with Students Technical Reporting and Presentation Focus on Underserved Student Populations

Release of ThinSats At 200-250 km Successful Mission Launch April 17, 2019

Deep Space STEM CubeSat Mission This Is the First STEM Deep Space Mission and The First Time NASA Has Launched CubeSats Into Deep Space Deep-Space CubeSat Mission Includes: 13 CubeSats Will Be On SLS-Artemus-1; 2 are Deep-Space, 11 Are Lunar and Asteroids The STEM Deep Space CubeSat Will Fly With Propulsion Power For ~200 Days After Launch, Data Transmitted Up To 1 year, CubeSat Will Travel 15-45 Million Km From Earth STEM Student Involvement 3-year Intensive Program Assist CubeSat Engineering Tasks Conduct Experiments Track the Launch and Flight in Real-Time Detailed Notes: Why Destination SPACE Co-founders have diverse collection of experience in education, satellites, and climate science The Collider is a supporter of STEM programs and connects students to innovative private Climate Solutions Industry Why Western North Carolina Connections with NOAA NCEI, renowned climate scientists, and the world’s most active climate and weather data archive Collider - connection to private sector side of climate science and solutions Asheville Museum of Science - local support and STEM education expertise. Why Langley Service Region Current NASA initiative to help every state launch a CubeSat to increase STEM research and education States like South Carolina have rapidly growing aerospace industries (i.e., Boeing in Charleston, SC), but local education systems are struggling to provide the necessary technical education. This project helps connect schools like RB Stall High School in Charleston. Innovative STEM programs like Nesbitt Discovery Academy, Research Triangle - NC, RB Stall High School, Challenger Centers, Craft Academy...etc.
