Physical Features: peninsula – area of land surrounded by water on 3 sides Which US state is a peninsula? mountainous – rugged, all the way to coastline, w/few valleys of flat land seas – Aegean, Ionian, & Mediterranean

Greek City-State * A city with its own laws, rulers, currency, etc. Independent, autonomous acted like individual countries.
