Our Africa practice StrongerTogether Working across Africa 54 countries, each with its own laws, challenges and opportunities There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. We provide the best legal advice in each country, not just in one or two of the continent’s largest economies. StrongerTogether programme This is our network of the top law firms in Africa (and beyond). Rather than recommending our ‘best friends’, we recommend the best lawyer for the job to meet our clients’ needs.

StrongerTogether Our programme to identify, develop and deepen relationships with law firms all over the world At least one ‘country partner’ – supported by a dedicated country team – responsible for each country around the world The StrongerTogether firms understand our working practices making a seamless team Co-ordination of local advice We are not exclusively tied to any one firm. This allows us to bring the best team to the table for the job. Higher standard of service to clients

Our Reforestation in East Africa Programme REAP Our Reforestation in East Africa Programme Freshfields has been carbon-neutral since 2007, offsetting its emissions through various projects: biomass projects in China, Turkish wind farms, and efficient cook stoves and LifeStraw water purification in Kenya. In 2015, the firm made a commitment to remaining carbon-neutral for the next 10 years and launched its offset project, Freshfields Reforestation in East Africa Programme (REAP).
Freshfields REAP is a community reforestation project based in Kenya and Uganda. The project empowers small groups of subsistence farmers and aims to reverse the effects of deforestation, drought and an insecure supply of food. Farmers are invited to join with neighbouring farmers to form small tree planting groups (clusters) and collectively plant trees on their land. This programme will improve the livelihoods of close to 9,000 farmers.
