African Virtual university It was created in 2014 by the AVU, a Pan-African intergovernmental organization dedicated to improving the quality and access of Online and Distance Learning in the African context. The AVU encourages institutions to modify the framework to meet the specific needs of their institution. The framework is free to download in PDF format. It thoroughly explores each criterion and uses a simple points system for adjudication.

QM rubrics QM is a set of quality Standards for online course design, a faculty-centered peer review process for online courses, a tool used by instructional design staff in their work with faculty, and a professional development opportunity for both faculty and staff. There are eight general standards and 43 review standards. Which Rubrics for PEBL Quality Standard Quality elements Online courses: The course has clear learning outcomes that are appropriate to the level of study and the content; teaching and learning and assessment methods encourage the achievement of the course aims and outcomes. The institution evaluates the effectiveness of its online learning offerings, including the extent to which the online learning goals are achieved, and uses the results of its evaluations to enhance the attainment of the goals.   Comprehensive and accurate information is provided on the website to prospective students about the nature of the online learning environment, and assists them in determining if they possess the skills important to success in online learning. The institution provides an online learning orientation program;
