Whatever happened to Pearl? Analyze the ending of the story by thinking about what ultimately might have happened to the characters. Based on information given to us in the text, what do you think might have happened to Pearl after the conclusion of the story? Did she go on to a new village to be a wealthy patron in society? Did her wild ways ever calm down? Did she end up getting married (and if so, what did she tell her own kids about her childhood)? Did she die very young from her wild behaviors?
