I USE APPROPRIATE LANGAUGE THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE I am Big On Respect

Today we are learning to… Speak kindly to everyone all the time!! What are we learning to do today?

It is important for us to learn this because… THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE OR THREATENING LANGUAGE ANYTIME! This is treating other people the way you want to be treated Why is it important for us to learn this?

You will be successful when: You are able to stop and THINK before you think- ARE THE WORDS I AM ABOUT TO SAY KIND? What do you need to be successful?

NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE There is no place in our school, home or community for any type of abusive language or actions. We will not use threats of violence to each other. We will not yell, scream or swear at each other. We know that any VIOLENCE is never ok!

SPEAK USING THOUGHTFUL AND KIND WORDS TO EACH OTHER. IDO SPEAK USING THOUGHTFUL AND KIND WORDS TO EACH OTHER. What are some thoughtful and kind words you can use in the classroom, the playground, at home?? Make a class list together…

SPEAK USING HELPFUL WORDS TO ENCOURAGE AND INSPIRE EACH OTHER. IDO SPEAK USING HELPFUL WORDS TO ENCOURAGE AND INSPIRE EACH OTHER.

WORDS ARE POWERFUL! How does it make you feel when others around you use inappropriate language or put downs?

TREAT OTHERS HOW WE WANT TO BE TREATED Let’s make a stand!! Design a poster that can be put up around our school to show that there is No Excuse For Abuse.

YOU DO We will be watching to see who is choosing the right words to use. Remember: Before I speak- I THINK Using appropriate language means you treat other people how you would like to be treated. What are three things you are going to do to use appropriate language this week?
