A CD3 gate B C D Supplementary Figure 1. Characterization of airway cells for transfer. BALB/c mice were infected twice with 105 pfu RSV with 21 day recovery periods. Mice were sacrificed and airway cells obtained via BAL. Airway cells were pooled and 106 cells transferred intranasally into recipient mice. Example flow cytometry plots of donor cells (A). Percentage (B) and numbers (C) of transferred T cells. Airway cells from naïve or RSV infected were labelled with cell trace violet prior to intranasal transfer into naïve animals. Recipient mice were infected with RSV one day after cell transfer and then culled two days after RSV infection. Labelled cells were detected by flow cytometry (D). In D bars represent mean +/- SEM of n=5 mice.

A B C D Supplementary Figure 2. Characterization of sorted airway cells for transfer. BALB/c mice were infected twice with 105 pfu RSV with 21 day recovery periods. Mice were sacrificed and airway cells obtained via BAL. Airway cells were pooled and sorted by MACS and 106 cells transferred intranasally into recipient mice. Example flow cytometry plots of donor CD8 (A) and CD4 (B) cells. Percentage (C) and numbers (D) of transferred T cells.
