Relationships / Attachments Is youth at-risk for losing current placement? How do you show love? What are the barriers for permanency? Home What is the neighborhood like? Do you feel safe? Do current living arrangements meet the family’s needs? Safety / Crisis What do you consider a crisis? Who supports the family now when there’s a crisis or safety challenge? How does the family keep themselves safe now? Natural and informal supports…… Spiritual What do youth & family do to obtain a sense of well-being/peace? Do they belong to a faith community? Describe a “spiritual person.” Cultural What are family’s values around parenting and the role of children? Are there holidays or celebrations that have meaning to you? If I were to live in your home, what would I need to know? Youth / Family How is family defined? Who are key family members not in the home? How are big decisions made? What are youth’s beliefs about what a family should look like? Do they differ from caregivers’ beliefs? Do you interact the same in public vs. private?
