Growing in Faith, Building Together Creciendo en la Fé, Construyendo Juntos

Our Journey as a Parish Our journey to study how our parish might add additional facilities on the new Cathedral campus started in the Summer of 2015. In consultation with our chosen firm, Cannon Architects, our parish staff and parish community developed and completed a Master Plan and Programming document.  This document details the buildings and spaces to meet our parish needs, such as social, meeting spaces, etc). The Master Plan included a new Cathedral School, Parish Center with Gym and Parish Offices. In the winter of 2015 the Building Committee was formed to study what could be built, while maintaining our Parish financial health.

Our Journey as a Parish ~continued~ Our Building Committee recommended a feasible project would include a Parish Center, to include a gym, stage, meeting spaces, social spaces, storage spaces, kitchen and sports team rooms. Outside on the campus would be a soccer field and other athletic fields. In collaboration with our Parish Council, our Cathedral School Principal's Advisory and School Improvement Committee (PASIC), the recommendation was made to retain the Cathedral School on the downtown campus, with the Building Committee to study needed upgrades and re-imagination of this campus.

Three Phases Our journey continues with three subsequent phases: Phase One: Completion of a relocated and now full size soccer field, other athletic fields and the preparation of all engineering work for Parish Center site. Phase Two: Funding development and completion of the Parish Center. Phase Three: Reimagining of the downtown Sacred Heart Campus.

CPC New Site

Parish Center

Phase One Will be accomplished with existing unrestricted funds in our building fund account. Obtain permits, anticipated mid-April to early May 2019. Complete grading, retaining walls, soccer and athletic fields and soccer seating area, anticipated August 2019. Begin engineering work for Parish Center and study of initial Sacred Heart campus needed upgrades.

Phase Two Capital Campaign for the Parish Center, beginning late Summer 2019 through December 2019. Complete engineering plan for the Parish Center. Upon completion of Capital Campaign, the Finance Plan is finalized, as is timing for when construction of Parish Center can begin, based on initial gifts and receipt of pledge payments. From start of construction, anticipated to be a one year build.

Phase Three Re-imagine the downtown Sacred Heart Campus. Strategic location advantages, close to museums and government, amidst re-vitalization of downtown. Catholic education, formation and evangelization. Review how improved and expanded facilities may better serve the existing school and formation needs, plus future growth, including adult formation. Study possible mixed use opportunities for campus.
