SRDP Savitri Rural Development Project

What is SRDP? Savitri Rural Development Project aimed at: Improving the reproductive health and child health in the tribal district of Nashik. Training of midwives and community health workers. Strengthening Institutional and human resources of public health system. Empowering the community through education. Economic development of the community by various sustainable activities.

SUB CENTERS WERE NON FUNCTUON BEFORE SRDP SUB CENTERS WERE NON FUNCTUON THERE WERE NO ROADS .

Empowered the villagers on health care Trained married women as ANMs – activate subcenters Trained villagers as community health workers – Asha’s Trained dais (traditional midwives)

Sensitized the stakeholders Sensitized the panchayats – increased ownership to their community

Empowered community through Education We brought awareness in the community on issues of women and children health We brought awareness on health care in general We brought awareness on social issues – family planning , environment etc

Health care for all Provided maternal health care which made people conscious that girl and mother’s health is important – improved health care of mothers in general Community workers were taught to provide first aids medical care with non prescriptive medication Made people aware to access govt health services by referring to sub centers/PHCs. Provided infant and children health care – people became conscious and helped reduce child morbidity and mortality. Provided nutrition for malnourished children and high risk mothers – eradicated malnourishment to just 10%

Plantation Created committee of 11 members of village Dehere that will be responsible for plantation beyond march 2014 The villagers will use funds from the plantation sale for medical care including for maternal health and child care in Dehere

Data Households Visited:14912 Priority Families Visited: 2185 New Pregnant Women Registered: 254 Total no. of pregnancy Test: 56 High risk mother: 24 Supplementary food High risk mother:7 Institutional deliveries: 212 Deliveries conducted by trained Dais: 100 Unassisted Deliveries: 02 Birth weight Below 2.5kgs- 24, 2.5-3kgs-164, 3kgs+ -58 No. of SAM- 35 No. of MAM- 1038 No. of children enrolled in Supplementary feeding program:35
