MOVING OBJECTS

WHAT IS ENERGY? ENERGY is the ability to do work. ENERGY exists in two main forms: POTENTIAL ENERGY: stored energy KINETIC ENERGY: moving energy

Movement Speed describes how fast an object is going. It measures the objects distance over its time.

Force Force: A push or pull that causes an object to move, stop, or change directions. The greater the force, the greater the change in motion will be. The more massive an object the less effect a force will have on it.

Friction Friction: the resistance to motion, caused by two objects moving against each other. Friction causes heat.

Motion Unless acted on by a force, objects in motion stay in motion and objects at rest stay at rest.
