Pointillism

Pointillism Seurat had a great influence on the development of Pointillism. Seurat called Pointillism, “chromo-luminarism” . It is the style in which small dots, or points, of complimentary color were used to intensify color and light.

Pointillism In the late 1800s, Georges Seurat theorized that he could produce more controlled color mixtures by juxtaposing tiny brushstrokes of pure color than he could produce if he premixed the colors on the palette. That is, he hoped putting dots of yellow and blue side by side would produce a better appearance of green (through optical blending) than if he mixed yellow and blue paint together on the palette first.
