Projectile motion

Projectile Motion Projectile = an object that moves along a two- dimensional curved trajectory in response to gravity Projectile Motion = the motion of a projectile under gravity Time of Flight = the time taken for a projectile to complete its motion Range = the horizontal distance travelled by a projectile (∆dx)

Dropping vs. Throwing

Important Properties of Projectile Motion Objects fall at the same rate, regardless if dropped or thrown Projectiles have no acceleration horizontally horizontal : a = 0 vertical : a = 9.8 m/s2 Projectiles follow parabolic motion At the vertex the vertical velocity is 0 m/s
