Modifiers Definition: an adjective or adverb that changes the meaning of a noun, pronoun, or verb

Where do modifiers belong within a sentence? A modifier should be placed as close as possible to the word it modifies.

What is a misplaced modifier? When a modifier is placed too far away from the word it modifies, it s called a misplaced modifier. Because they are misplaced, such phrases and clauses modify the wrong word in a sentence. For Example: We rented a house in the mountains with a view. Example with Correction: In the mountains, we rented a house with a view.
