“From Ignorance to Understanding” Sermon 4 from the series: “Enlarging Your Heart” aka “Why the Grinch stole Christmas” Today’s text: I John 5:20

“From Ignorance to Understanding” The Son gives Understanding vs 20a “…the Son of God has come and has given us understanding…” Head Knowledge Heart Knowledge Honor God with the Head or with the Heart

“From Ignorance to Understanding” The Son is True Understanding vs. 20 c “And we are in Him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ.” Evidence of Truth “In” the Truth What are you into these days?

“From Ignorance to Understanding” The Son is understood to be God vs. 20d “He is the true God and eternal life.” All I know is…. When a person crosses the spiritual line of demarcation from death unto life through Jesus Christ, it is always followed by a change in one’s life as well.

Things to remember and practice James said that even demons believe in God, but the demons are not saved because they don’t know God. They know of Him in their head. It is not until you know Him in your heart and understand Him in the deepest part of your being that real salvation takes hold. What are your plans for you and Jesus in 2012? John says in this verse, “And we are in Him who is true…” This life will not make sense to you until you are into Jesus and He is in you – then you will have understanding from another world – supernatural – powerful. When a person crosses the spiritual line of demarcation from death unto life through Jesus Christ, it is always followed by a change in one’s life as well.
