Presentation transcript:

Midwest RPO Fires Status Mark Janssen – Midwest RPO

Current Status LADCO is actively modeling non-fires 2009 and 2018 scenarios Writing an issue paper for states to try and get more attention to fire issues. Base year fires modeling showed…..

Other Sensitivity Runs Fires (Apr & May 2002) – very small impact on seasonal average and on daily model performance in the Upper Midwest

2002 Fire Emissions (April & May)

2002 Fire Emissions (April & May) PM2.5 OC PM2.5 OC PM2.5 EC PM2.5 EC

Where we go from here? Work with states on Issue paper. Test/run future year fire inventories created by ECR. Test other months (September?) Given the current state of emissions sensitivities and the need to do state SIPs fires is not a high priority.
