Equilibrium Defined: Object in equilibrium has no acceleration! Two or more forces act concurrently and sum is zero Net force is ZERO! Object in equilibrium has no acceleration! Note: This does NOT mean velocity is zero!
The Equilibrant Defined: Vector (force) that would produce a net force of zero for a system of two or more forces that are NOT in equilibrium Essentially equal in magnitude of resultant, but opposite in direction If applied, the equilibrant would produce a net force of ZERO!
