Attention technique: The Polite UPoster

Goal Develop an attentional user interface Conduct a museum study Build a platform for advanced research Leverage the trend of the rapidly increasing display devices

Do people pay attention to the priority? Attention deficiency Info-stress

Develop an attentional user interface In the modern world, there are usually too much information distract people’s attention. Develop an politely interactive poster to help attention management What is the polite interaction ? Let people get what they need and do not disturb them as possible. Design consideration Help visitors pay attention properly Reflect the purposes-oriented behavior of the visitors Treat the differences between exhibition environment of museum and public spaces

Prototype design Information presentation An intuitive way to present the low cognitive load information

Combine the geographical information and content knowledge at the same media

Recommendation : an additional function of Uposter

Attention-based technology Polite switching mechanism Attentive mode Inattentive mode Simplify from Attention theory Focused attention Divided attention Inattention

Location-aware technology

Future research Toward the Affect-sensitivity technology Surprise Fear Sadness Disgust Anger Happiness

Thank you for your attention.
